Busy New Grandma

Well with the new year brings new things for my little grandbaby! She has two bottom teeth that she thinks are for biting our chins! Then also she has noticed that she can bite piece of things off, namely food. I just hope she doesn't want to bite pieces of our chins off! She has also learned to wave. She opens & closes her hand & away from herself, as I've seen most babies wave at theirselves. So I thought she was so amazingly smart! She loves to look at books so we buy her a lot of them because we all love to read! She loves food too! My daughter has given her all kinds of things to eat, even chocolate, which I didn't start my kids on until much later than 8 mos. But she loves to eat, & since she has been introduced to all kinds of textures of meat, veggies, fruits, cereals, crackers, cookies, who knows how much longer she'll want her baby food! Do you know of the "food ring"? I call it that because it looks like a giant ring, that has fabric mesh you can open up & stuff food or fruit or veggies into & the baby gnaws or sucks on it. They can get juices from the food that goes inside. She will probably want real food that isn't pureed any more any time! I still try to feed her cereal & fruit in the mornings because I know breakfast ts so good for her! She has all kinds of energy & crawls around playing with all of her toys. And now she pulls herself up from a sitting position to a standing postion up to the couches in their living room & then back down to the floor. She loves to crawl all over. Her little knees get red & so do the tops of her feet. I try to keep some leggings or pants & socks especially, on her so that doesn't happen as often. Plus she does get dirty if she doesn't stay on the carpet that's just in the living room. There's tile around the rest of the house, foyer, kitchen & hallways. She loves to follow me around everywhere! It's nice because it tires her out! (Don't let her know that grandma is tired out too though!) We go for a walk in the stroller around the block since we don't have much cold weather here. It's been so very beautiful out, I feel sorry for the ones that have feet of snow to deal with!
